Seagull global reach and project status

Hi All

Many thanks to Steve Stremciuc, know as Steve Music to his friends,
who did this interesting Google maps piece recently:

http://www.seagullproject.org/googlemaps/map/

There's a dot for each Seagull dev who's registered at the
seagullproject.org site. In version 2 apparently we can expect the
name to popup and maybe the dude's picture, but I guess we will have
to take privacy concerns into account, so for now all you get is
location. Werner you might notice there's a big gap in Germany,
personally I think this is a data issue, be interesting to hear
feedback.

Steve actually did the googlemaps module around 2 months ago but it's
taken me this long to get the thing live. Yes I've been a bit busy
lately, and Davert and Peter I will answer your emails shortly, not
to mention some outstanding forum and ML stuff.

The good news is the increased busyness is due to having joined a
startup which is using Seagull exclusively as a platform for all our
product and service work, so there's a lot of practical testing going
on that will result in fewer bugs and more maintenance and
performance improvements for the project. We will also be getting
some input on the community side of things from the partners I'm
working with, clearly this is a job which has outgrown the capacity
of 1 maintainer and a few dedicated core devs.

Continuing with good news the CMS module has been getting stacks of
work done on it, many new features are ready to release and most
known bugs have been fixed. It's really a matter of finding the time
to release Seagull 0.6.2, after which CMS 1.1 can go out - we
anticipate this happening very soon, thanks for your patience.

For new features see the API docs:

http://trac.seagullproject.org/wiki/Modules/Cms/Api (see collection
stuff at the end)

or try the demo which contains the latest code:

http://demo.seagullproject.org/

Thanks for everyone's continued support and interest. In closing I'd
like to ask if folks can help each other out with the beginner/
intermediate level questions, and the core devs and I will stick with
separating out the Seagull core and progressing the new modules.
